Our Story
Hi! I'm Chelsey Hayes, co-founder and CEO of Brown Babee Co. Our story isn't just about starting a company; it's a tale woven from the threads of love, challenge, and community.
When my daughter, Chancellor, developed eczema at just 4 months old, I embarked on a mission to find clean products that could soothe her sensitive skin. Left disappointed by the lack of suitable options in the market, I took matters into my own hands and collaborated with a product formulator to create a clean and gentle solution for my daughter.
This mission was deeply personal. Having battled my own health challenges, I knew the profound significance of nurturing oneself with care that doesn't compromise safety. This journey was not just about skincare; it was about the unbreakable bond of motherhood, empowerment, community, and healing.
Having been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and having battled stage 4 endometriosis and infertility, I understood the importance of using safe, non-toxic products. Believing that my struggles may have been exacerbated by years of exposure to harmful chemicals, I was committed to creating a healthier alternative for my daughter.
Chancellor, born through the selfless act of my neighbor who carried her to term, embodies the hope and beauty that arises from resilience and a strongly supportive community. She is the living inspiration behind the mission of Brown Babee.
